Where the apps stand

Android is in testing and sent for review, the iPhone app is set up and not yet submitted, and neither is in a store.

Not in the stores yet

As of 6 November 2026 the apps for Android and iPhone are not in the stores. The game on this website is the same game, and this post says what has happened to the apps and what is left.

Each app is a thin native shell around the same web bundle: Kotlin and a WebView on Android, SwiftUI and WKWebView on iPhone and iPad. The game runs from one file inside the app, so it plays offline. The shells add what a web page cannot do: rewarded video from AdMob, sign-in, achievements and leaderboards through Google Play Games or Game Center, hint packs through Google Play Billing and StoreKit, and the optional daily reminder for challenges.

Android

Version 1.0.0 went to Google Play’s internal testing track on 5 November 2026 and to the first testers the same day. The same build was then promoted to a closed test. The same day we sent Google the store listing, the content declarations and the closed-test release for review, and Google quotes up to seven days.

Google Play also requires a closed test with at least 12 testers opted in for 14 days in a row before an app can apply for production. So the earliest the Android app can be public is a little over two weeks after enough testers have joined. The Play Games project, with 24 achievements and 2 leaderboards, stays a draft until it is published with the first production release.

iPhone and iPad

The App Store Connect record was created on 5 November. It has the 24 Game Center achievements, 2 leaderboards and four hint products set up. The app has not been submitted for review yet. The first submission still needs a review screenshot for each in-app purchase, and the first purchases have to go in with a new version of the app.

Hints, ads and money

The levels are free and need no account. The apps contain ads, always rewarded and always opt-in, and sell hint packs of 10, 35 or 100 hints and an unlimited-hints option. A bought hint is checked by our server against the store’s signed record of the purchase before it is added, so one purchase counts once. The website sells nothing, and challenges never allow hints.

When either app reaches a store, it will be announced here. Until then the best way to play is on this site.
